Dubai announces Plan for Residency to accommodate Students, Doctors, Artists, Engineers, etc

Nigerian news has it that His Highness, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Vice President and Prime Minister of Dubai has launched the "Golden card" scheme that gives permanent Resident card to Researchers, Outstanding Students, Doctors, Entrepreneurs or anyone with special talents.

This new permanent residency initiative has identified the first 6,800 qualified expats from over 70 countries.

"Throughout history, the UAE opened its door to millions of people looking for to pursue their dreams and better their lives. The Golden Card is our way to welcome all those seeking to be a part of the UAE's success story and making it a second home," Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid said.

The plan is to attract amazing talents to Dubai, while promoting and improving the growth of business. The cardholders can also bring their families.

The current investments of the identified 6,800 residents are estimated at AED100 billion.
